Join us for this practical webinar refresher in ophthalmology.

Although ophthalmic presentations are common in general practice in Australia, ophthalmology remains a challenging area of clinical general practice. Ophthalmic presentations to general practitioners range in nature from minor problems to vision-threatening emergencies or can be the presenting feature of significant systemic disease including carotid stenosis, giant cell arteritis or cerebral tumours.

The paucity of ophthalmology training for medical students, junior doctors and general practitioners is well documented. Continuing education regarding vision threatening and systemic conditions related to eye disease can be helpful to general practitioners in assessing and managing patients with eye related presentations.

Topics being covered include:

Presenters:

Dr Dov Hersh, Ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeon

Dr Brighu Swamy, Medical retina and macula subspecialist.

Dr Robert McDonald, Ophthalmologist and specialist corneal, cataract and refractive surgeon.

Target audience: GPs and Optometrists (although the content is not targeted to Pharmacists they are welcome to attend)
