This webinar provides an overview of Provider Connect Australia™ (PCA), explaining how it enables healthcare organisations to maintain accurate practice and provider information in one trusted place to support secure communication and interoperability. Attendees will learn the benefits of registering for PCA, the steps required to get started, and where to access ongoing support to improve digital health workflows now and into the future.

Provider Connect Australia™(PCA) is a free service provided by the Australian Digital Health Agency and is still a maturing service. PCA allows healthcare organisations to enter and maintain their practice or business information in one place. This includes details such as who the organisation is, how it can be contacted, and information about the healthcare providers working within that organisation. Once entered, this information can be safely shared with trusted partners such as the National Health Services Directory, secure messaging providers, and public health services.

At present, this makes it easier to find the right provider with accurate business information and ensures messages such as referrals, test results, and hospital communications are sent to the correct place. It also helps hospitals send electronic discharge summaries to the correct general practice or healthcare service, reducing delays and errors.

As Health Connect Australia is rolled out as the national approach to sharing health information, PCA will play a foundational role by supplying trusted provider and service identity data needed for secure information sharing, discovery, and interoperability. Overtime, this will make it easier to connect systems, support more automated and standardised ways of working, and reduce administrative effort. PCA already improves communication today and will remain a key building block for future digital health systems, making it increasingly valuable for health professionals to register.
