Join us online for the latest updates on lung cancer assessment and management, featuring the new National Lung Cancer Screening Program. With an estimated 26,356 Australians living with lung cancer, diagnosed after 2016 and over 15,000 new cases in 2024, this program aims to detect lung cancer early to improve treatment outcomes and reduce mortality. We will also cover advances in asthma management, including the latest injectable treatments. Part of Chris O'Brien Lifehouse CPD series
National Lung Cancer Screening Program, an initiative of the Australian Government, is being implemented by the Department of Health and Aged Care in collaboration with Cancer Australia and the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. It has been co-designed with communities and the healthcare workforce to ensure it is person-centred, equity-focused, accessible, and culturally safe. The program aims to improve lung cancer outcomes for those disproportionately affected, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
