Supporting a patient experiencing DFV can be difficult. DFV can have a huge impact on a person’s physical and mental wellbeing. In fact, it is the largest contributor to the burden of disease for women aged 18-44, more than alcohol and tobacco use.
A full-time GP is estimated to unknowingly see 5 patients per week experiencing DFV. Only 1 in 10 are asked about it.
Join us in person for a catered training dinner and panel discussion which will cover; how to recognize the signs a patient may present with indicating DFV; how to respond to disclosures; how to ask the right questions and how to support the patient. This event will also connect you to local support services. Our panel will discuss the signs of domestic and family violence (DFV), how to appropriately respond to disclosures of DFV and support services available.
