Common injuries:
- Knee- Runners knee, Meniscal tears
- Shoulder- Rotator cuff tears, shoulder Labral tears
- Ankle- Easily missed fractures and syndesmosis injuries
- Exertional Leg pain- differential diagnosis and when to refer for compartment pressure testing
Common Conditions:
- Osteoarthritis- particularly "generalised nodal osteo"
- Tennis elbow- not always a tendon problem
- Frozen shoulder- medical contributors
- Plantar Fasciitis- other sources of persistent pain
- Tendon pain- how mechanotherapy works over time
- Concussion- how to administer and interpret the Standardised Concussion Assessment Tool correctly in less than 10 minutes
During the discussion we will cover Treatment Modalities and their mechanisms of action:
- Strengthening and neuromuscular control exercise
- Weight Loss (low insulin approach)
- Adjuncts- Shock wave, PRP, Hyaluronic Acid injections, Cortisone, Prolotherapy (ultrasound guided injections)
- Habituation exercises and Graduated return to exercise (Concussion)
