Asthma management has fundamentally changed in the last five years. This session works through three real-world cases spanning a spectrum of asthma severity, translating current guidelines into practical steps for everyday general practice. 

Learning Outcomes:

1. Beyond the blue puffer: apply GINA guidelines to step away from SABA monotherapy 
2. Distinguish uncontrolled, difficult-to-treat and true severe asthma: systematically address modifiable factors  
3. Appreciate that asthma is not one disease, but of distinct phenotypes, which can be identified in primary care. 
4. Understand the GP's role across the biologic pathway.
