Learning outcomes:

This session will help you understand the common forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older people and adults with disability. You will learn:

  1. Identify signs and indicators of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older people and adults with disability.
  2. Determine steps you can take with patients who are older people or adults with disability to identify and respond to potential abuse.
  3. Recommend appropriate referral pathways and support options, including the role of the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission, and how to access useful resources.
