There is a large population of trans and gender diverse people living in, or visiting Sydney who are in need of appropriate and inclusive primary care. This workshop aims to share practice wisdom alongside the newly launched CESPHN clinical Health Pathway on Transgender and Gender Diversity.
Facilitators will take a holistic and evidence based approach to enable physicians to better understand, and strengthen confidence to prescribe hormone treatments and to support trans and gender diverse patients as they affirm their gender.
This workshop will cover:
• Understanding trans and gender diverse people
• Introduction to gender affirming healthcare
• Treatment options & protocols
• Referral pathways
Participants will better understand:
1. The gender affirming healthcare needs and assessment of trans and gender diverse patients
2. The available treatment, support and referral options for trans and gender diverse patients
3. The CESPHN Health Pathways on Transgender and Gender Diversity
Target Audience: GPs, AHPs, Pharmacists, Practice Managers and Practice Nurses
