The NSW Thriving Kids approach recognises that children and families achieve the best outcomes when they receive the right support, at the right time, from the right services. For children with developmental delays and concerns, this often involves navigating multiple health, community and early intervention services, which can be complex and overwhelming for families. Primary care providers play a vital role in developmental surveillance, identifying concerns early, supporting parents and carers, and connecting families with appropriate assessment, intervention and support pathways.
Join us for this education session exploring developmental surveillance, screening, and assessment pathways for children aged 0-5 years in NSW through the lens of the Thriving Kids framework. The session will cover the NSW tiered model of developmental care, current referral pathways, practical resources for families, and the unique and ongoing role of general practice in supporting children's health and wellbeing. Gain greater confidence in partnering with families, navigating local services, and helping children access the support they need to thrive.
