This training is focused on building trauma awareness and working from a trauma informed care model in the context of short form consultations

Learning Outcomes

• Develop an understanding of the types, prevalence, adaptations to and impacts of complex trauma
• Identify possible adult health presentations of complex trauma
• Recognise symptoms and signs with a trauma-informed lens
• Determine strategies for working with clients who have experienced complex trauma in short-form consultations, to enhance safety and minimize re-traumatisation.

Target audience: GPs and primary healthcare providers in the CESPHN region.
