This workshop equips Supported Independent Living (SIL) Team Leaders and House Coordinators with knowledge and skills to assist their teams to support the health needs of clients with intellectual disabilities.
This workshop is designed to equip team leaders with essential knowledge and skills to support their staff working with clients with intellectual disability. Key areas covered include:
• Preventative Health: Understanding the importance of preventative health measures.
• Palliative and End-of-Life Care: Providing support for clients with intellectual disability at the end of life.
• Collaborative Relationships: Building effective partnerships with primary care providers.
• Annual Health Assessments: Supporting and facilitating Annual Health Assessments.
• Mental Health: Identifying common mental health needs and knowing how to support appropriate care.
