Join us online for a practical update on food intolerances in general practice. Food intolerance reactions are more common than food allergies and affect up to 25% of the population, particularly children. We will discuss how food intolerances can cause or contribute to common GP presentations, introduce the topic through a case study and outline their relevance to conditions such as IBS, headaches and migraines, behavioural issues in children, nappy rash, colic, recurrent urticaria, mouth ulcers and non coeliac gluten intolerance. We will also touch on current research and offer guidance on recognising when food intolerance may be playing a causative role in patient symptoms, as well discussing diagnosis and management. Part of Shire CPD series.
Presented by: Dr Anne Swain, head Dietitian at the Allergy and Intolerance Clinic, Dept of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, leading expert in the field of food intolerance and food allergy both in Australia and overseas and has had 40 years experience in this area
