About the consultation
The Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) is conducting a series of consultations to identify current gaps and emerging areas of need in youth mental health service delivery across our region. Recognising that the mental health of young people is being adversely impacted by recent national and global events; and that people seeking mental health support in the community often face challenges in finding the right service due to the complexity of the health system, difficulty accessing services, or lack of appropriate services, these consultations present an opportunity to identify keys areas of need to help inform the CESPHN needs assessment and future commissioning in youth mental health.
About the workshops
Primary care providers (including GPs and mental health professionals), community mental health service providers, other support service providers and carers are invited to attend.
The consultations are being held with representatives from local service providers in the CESPHN region. Consultations are being held within the two main Local Health District regions: South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). Service providers working within the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network or St Vincent’s Hospital Network are welcome to attend either session.
Orygen will be facilitating the workshops on behalf of CESPHN. These workshops will explore what is working well and identify any service gaps that may exist. It will also explore possible service enhancements to better meet the needs of young people in each of the regions;and to further compare and contrast with existing services provided.
Separate focus groups are being held to capture the experiences and needs of community members, including young people with lived experience of mental health challenges and their carers.

Participants only need to attend one session.
Tue 26 September 2023, 1-4:30 pm at CESPHN office (Mascot)
Wed 27th September 2023, 9-12:30pm at CESPHN office (Mascot)

Please note: non-salaried participants such as GPs, private practitioners and carers, may be eligible for reimbursement for their time to attend the workshop in accordance with CESPHN’s paid participation policy.
