I had a party on the weekend and had leftover Turkey (which I made myself). There’s nothing like homemade cooking.
2. What exercise did you do yesterday?
I’m very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Sydney – Drummoyne so I do the Bay Walk regularly. I simply love listening to my music and getting inspired by nature at the same time. But I do believe that Dancing is the best form of exercise for the mind, body and soul.
3. When did you last see a primary health professional?
I went to see the Physio just before Christmas for an old shoulder injury. The guy I see is VERY good and my shoulder is getting so much better.
4. What do you do to improve your mental health?
When it comes to Mental Health – there is nothing more addictive than dancing. It is pure adrenalin, and the best way to feel happy (mentally and physically). It brings you sheer joy, no matter what age you are. I have been teaching Latin Dance for almost 30 yrs and specialize in Wedding Dance routines and it is a very special feeling when I see my students achieve their goals and the look on their faces when they see results is just priceless. I truly believe that MUSIC has the power to heal everyone – it is vital for our mental health and is scientifically proven to ‘change’ your mindset to a more ‘happier’ and ‘healthier’ you.
5. What are your health goals for the next month?
Nature offers you the most beautiful surroundings and is the perfect setting for my meditation so that’s definitely one thing I will continue to do on a weekly basis. I do tend to overeat (especially around Christmas) so one thing I will try to change is the quantity and quality of my eating habits.
