The Initial Assessment and Referral (IAR) Decision Support Tool (DST) was developed to assist health professionals to match a person’s mental health needs with the most appropriate level of care.
The IAR-DST is being used in a variety of contexts across primary mental health and training in the tool is a valuable way to become familiar with the language of the IAR and use the tool appropriately.
New dates for online IAR-DST training are now live: National IAR Training.

If there is not a suitable date for IAR training above, you can also complete the eLearning module for Health Professionals developed by the Department of Health, Disability and Aging and the University of Melbourne.
