Multicultural Health Service Navigator

The Multicultural Health Navigator service provides community members with one-on-one bilingual navigation support to access health services and social support.

The service covers the areas of Canterbury, Strathfield-Burwood-Ashfield, and Rockdale-Kogarah and Hurstville, and is available to residents in these areas who have limited or no English proficiency and who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Korean or Nepali.


The bi-lingual health navigators can provide you with

  • One-on-one support
  • Information about health services and how to obtain them
  • Linking clients to health, wellbeing and social services. This includes services addressing physical and mental health, financial counselling, housing, employment, gambling harm and loneliness

Eligibility

You are eligible for the Multicultural Health Navigator service if you:

  • are between the age of 18 to 65
  • live in the areas of Canterbury, Strathfield-Burwood-Ashfield, Rockdale-Kogarah and Hurstville
  • speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Korean or Nepali

This is a free service and a Medicare card is not required to access the service.

Referrals

You can reach out directly to the service to talk to someone in your language to get assistance with being referred. Just call 9597 5455.

Your GP, other health professionals and community-based services can refer to the service through this online referral form.

Service Provider

The Multicultural Health Navigator Service is managed by Advance Diversity Services and jointly delivered with Metro Assist.
