Clinical and Community Councils

CESPHN has a Clinical and Community Council that play a central role in shaping primary health care services, by providing strategic advice, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that both clinical expertise and community needs are reflected in decision-making and service delivery.

The Clinical Council comprises of primary health professionals including GPs, nurses and allied health practitioners working in the CESPHN region.  The Community Council includes representatives from community and health services, local residents, and consumers using primary health services.

The Councils meet five times each year, with member input influencing strategic priorities, program design, and initiatives to improve health outcomes across the Central and Eastern Sydney region.

By integrating the perspectives of clinicians, community members, and consumers, the councils ensure that CESPHN’s planning, commissioning, and service delivery are responsive, inclusive, and evidence informed.

Council members have provided insight and guidance on CESPHN’s work, such as health services needs and gaps following the recent Bondi tragedy, child mental health and wellbeing, Aboriginal health and input on strategy frameworks around healthy ageing, multicultural health and research.
