Beyond the C has re-opened enrolments: An incentivised Quality Improvement for GPs- Up to $4000 available
Central and Eastern Sydney PHN has partnered with the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) to deliver an incentivised Quality Improvement program for General Practice.
Beyond the C will guide General Practices to undertake hepatitis C data-searching, review clinical files, and recall people for testing and treatment. Practices will have the support of the ASHM project team, Practice Nurse Advisors, and the Hub resources as well as support from the PHN.
Practices would undertake 6 months of Quality improvement and be eligible for $4000 payment over two installments.
Practices who use POLAR can access a tailor-made report to assist in identifying those with a Hepatitis C diagnosis, who might require treatments. CESPHN and ASHM can support practices through the process of prescribing treatment if this is not a familiar area, or referral where appropriate.
Practices who use PenCAT or other mechanisms to share data can have access to POLAR for use of the Hepatitis C report, for use in the Beyond the C program, but is it not a requirement for participation.
