New Medicare Urgent Care Clinic open in Marrickville
New Medicare Urgent Care Clinic open in Marrickville
Marrickville Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) is now open and is located at 14 Rich Street Marrickville.
Marrickville UCC open hours are 8.00 am – 10.00 pm, seven days a week, including public holidays, with pathology and radiology to support timely assessment and management of patients.
UCCs provide bulk-billed, short-term, episodic care for urgent, non-life-threatening presentations such as minor injuries, simple fractures, sprains, minor burns, infections, gastrointestinal illness, UTIs, STIs, rashes, and minor eye/ear conditions.
Strict inclusion and exclusion criteria will be applied to ensure the service is used appropriately and supports primary care and reduces avoidable ED presentations. The UCC will not provide:
routine general practice care
general screening or health checks
vaccinations or routine prescriptions
mental health advice
family planning
referrals for tests, imaging, or specialist care
chronic disease management
preventive health procedures such as cervical screening tests
Primary care providers remain the coordinators of their patients’ ongoing care. A discharge summary will be provided for all patients and will be sent to their nominated GP.
We look forward to working together to improve access to urgent care for the Marrickville community, while maintaining and supporting the central role of general practice in ongoing patient care.
