Clinical practice guidelines for deprescribing in older people
A new clinical practice guideline has been released to help support health care professionals with deprescribing medications in older people that are either potentially harmful or no longer needed to potentially reduce adverse events and achieve better health outcomes.

Expression of Interest (EOI) – Dementia siagnosis and management in primary care
A combined Research Study and Continuous Professional Development event for Practice Nurses
This is an opportunity for Practice Nurses to participate in an event dedicated to dementia in primary care. This involves participation in a small, facilitated focus group (one hour duration) to determine current experiences and challenges of primary care in dementia diagnosis and management, and seek feedback on collaborative models of care.
Following this, an educational talk will be delivered by an expert geriatrician. This will address any learning goals raised in the focus group and include an overview of best practice dementia diagnosis and management for primary care, updates on new diagnostics and treatments, and what local resources and supports are available.
Note: Numbers are limited, and participants will be remunerated for their time in attendance.
