MEDIA RELEASE: Help aHead mental health hubs opening for referrals on 1 July

15 June 2026:

On 1 July 2026, Help aHead, our integrated mental health hubs, will open across the Central and Eastern Sydney region, providing a new and accessible pathway for adults seeking mental health support.

Delivered by Grand Pacific Health and One Door Mental Health, the Help aHead hubs will offer a single, community-based entry point for people aged 18 and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including those with moderate to complex needs.

From launch on 1 July, individuals and referrers will be able to access support through the Medicare Mental Health phone line (1800 595 212) or via the e‑Referral form (also accessible in GP software).

This streamlined access pathway is designed to make it easier to connect people to the right level of care at the right time.

The two hubs will be located at:

  • Caringbah, operated by Grand Pacific Health, located at: 385 Port Hacking Road, Caringbah
  • Inner South (TBC), operated by One Door Mental Health, with interim service delivery across multiple locations while the permanent site is established

Help aHead will support people across IAR Levels 2 to 4, offering flexible, tailored support based on individual needs. The hubs will provide a multidisciplinary model of care, bringing together clinical and non-clinical professionals to deliver holistic, coordinated support.

Services available through Help aHead will include psychological therapies, psychosocial supports, physical health care, support for alcohol and other drug concerns, and targeted supports for First Nations peoples and multicultural communities.

A strong outreach approach will also support engagement with people who may face barriers to accessing care.

This integrated model is designed to reduce fragmentation and improve continuity by connecting primary care, community services, and the broader health system. Care will be trauma-informed, culturally safe, recovery-oriented, and tailored to individual support goals and needs.

The launch of Help aHead marks an important step in strengthening access to coordinated, person-centred mental health care across Central and Eastern Sydney, providing clearer pathways into support and better outcomes for people and communities.
