SESLHD is Going Paperless: Electronic Referrals Now Preferred
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is making referrals easier and faster. We are expanding even further across more services to assist you as referrers with a more streamlined approach to referring into Outpatient Services.
We are moving away from paper-based referrals—electronic referrals (eReferrals) are now the preferred method for referring patients to Outpatient Services.
What’s New?
On Wednesday, 3 September 2025, eReferrals expanded further into the following services:
Prince of Wales Hospital
The Sutherland Hospital
Urology
Direct Access Colonoscopy
Neurology
Gastroenterology
Epilepsy Service
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Renal (Kidney Care Centre)
This latest expansion now sees all Prince of Wales Hospital Outpatient Services (excluding Cancer Services and Allied Health services – Speech and Occupational Therapy) using electronic referrals as the preferred method.
Why Switch to eReferrals?
Streamlined and Secure: Submit referrals directly from your practice software via HealthLink or MyHealthLink portal.
Easy Access: Use the same process as Driver’s License Assessments via HealthLink Portal.
Attach Clinical Info: Include relevant documents with ease.
Transparent and Trackable: See available services and clinicians, and receive updates on referral status, outcomes, and triage category.
Better Communication: Two-way messaging allows for quick follow-up and additional info when needed.
How to Find SESLHD eReferrals:
On the HealthLink homepage, look for:

(Note: Not via HealthLink EDI)
If you experience access issues, contact HealthLink to enable SESLHD eReferral forms.
